Frequently Asked Questions
How do you book a viewing appointment to see the wedding venue?
We would be delighted to show you around our wedding venue and discuss your wedding plans in more detail. To book a viewing appointment, please email Caroline at firstname.lastname@example.org, call on 01362 637828 or use our contact enquiry form. Our private viewing appointments typically take 45 minutes and we are happy to offer weekend appointments with weekday and evening appointments also being available upon request.
Are you an exclusive venue?
Yes, we will only hold one wedding over a three-day period to give our couples plenty of preparation time either side of their wedding day. To keep things extra special, we also only hold up to ten weddings every year.
Is it possible to book the venue for a ceremony only?
We are an exclusive wedding venue and do not hold more than one wedding over a three day period. This therefore gives couples time for access for wedding day preparations on the day immediately prior to a wedding day and also time to collect their personal belongings during the morning immediately following the day of their wedding. We are therefore unable to offer any reduction in our hire fee for those couples looking to use our venue for a ceremony only as we would not be able to hold any further weddings over this period.
We can offer a ceremony only hire for a small mid-week (Wednesday) wedding with guest numbers of up to 60. This would be £2,000 for a three hour hire period to include time for your ceremony, drinks reception and photographs in our gardens and grounds.
What is your guest and seating capacity?
Our licensed ceremony room can comfortably seat 90 guests or our maximum is 100 seated guests. We can also offer outside ceremonies and have many areas within the grounds which couples can choose for their ceremony and these areas include formal gardens, a decked area, an oak pergola, meadow and a circular glade area in our woodland.
Our courtyard marquee area comfortably seats 100 guests. For couples who wish to have more guests seated for a wedding breakfast, they may hire a separate marquee to be located in our gardens. This may be used for the day and wedding breakfast and then the courtyard marquee and surrounding wedding venue rooms would be used for the evening.
Our overall limit for the day and evening guests is 120 and for weddings on Fridays and Saturdays we do have a minimum day guest requirement of 60.
Do you offer a small wedding option?
Yes, small mid-week weddings are offered on Wednesdays where guest numbers are up to 60 adults for a ceremony and afternoon reception. In addition, a small wedding option is also available for a Saturday wedding where guest numbers are up to 60 adults for a ceremony and afternoon reception with the option to add an evening reception with a further 20 evening guests.
Is access allowed prior to our wedding day?
We believe that every wedding is unique and special and that is why we only hold one wedding over any three day period. Access is therefore available on the day prior to your wedding day and couple’s often wish to use this day to dress and decorate the marquee and courtyard rooms. Access is also available during the morning after your wedding day so you can collect your personal belongings.
We appreciate that access may also be required outside these times for deliveries etc. and we will always try and accommodate any such requests.
What are the catering options?
We consider your food and service to be one of the most important parts of your day and have therefore hand-picked the finest local caterers for you to choose from. All our professional caterers know our venue well and are able to offer a huge range of options to cover all tastes and budgets.
Do you offer any packages?
As a bespoke venue we do not offer any set plans or packages and we hope this gives couples lots of freedom to be able to choose the various elements of their day and have greater budget flexibility.
How many cars can we park?
Up to 40 cars make be parked on a grass area reserved for parking. We would encourage the use of taxis and minibuses wherever possible and we are happy to provide details of taxi and minibus firms who work with us regularly.
Do you have any accommodation at your venue?
We do not provide any accommodation at our venue but have put together a comprehensive list of places to stay in Norfolk which we can provide upon request. Our list covers all tastes and budgets from luxurious retreats to comfy rooms for the night and we are also happy to assist our couples and their guests with any specific accommodation requests.
Are children allowed at your venue?
Children of all ages are most welcome at our venue and they love running around our gardens! Why not keep them entertained with some garden games or even a children’s entertainer which might include a magician or even teddy bear making in our woodland -we would be very happy to provide recommendations.
Our caterers are also happy to provide children’s meals at a reduced rate.
Baby changing facilities are also available.
Can we supply our own drinks and do you charge corkage?
Couples may supply their own drinks at our venue and we do not charge corkage. For couples who wish to have a pay bar, we work with some great local mobile bar providers who are able to deal with all the necessary licencing and who can also offer a variety of bespoke bar options.
Do you allow fireworks and Chinese lanterns?
Due to the large areas of meadow at our venue and the surrounding farmland, Chinese lanterns and fireworks are unfortunately not allowed anywhere within our gardens and grounds.
Are live bands allowed at your venue and what time does the party end?
Yes, live bands are allowed to play at our venue within our Dance Room and they may play amplified music until 11pm. After this time, the music may continue with a disco or your own playlist until just before your event finishes at midnight.
