Frequently Asked Questions
How do you book a viewing appointment to see the wedding venue?
We would be delighted to show you around our wedding venue and discuss your wedding plans in more detail. To book a viewing appointment, please email Caroline at info@swantonmorleyhouse.co.uk, call on 01362 637828 or use our contact enquiry form. Our private viewing appointments typically take 45 minutes and we are happy to offer weekend appointments with weekday and evening appointments also being available upon request.
Are you an exclusive venue?
Yes, we will only hold one wedding over a three-day period to give our couples plenty of preparation time either side of their wedding day. To keep things extra special, we also only hold up to ten weddings every year.
Is it possible to book the venue for a ceremony only?
We are delighted to offer ceremony only options for couples who are looking for an elegant wedding, which may be small in size but which does not compromise on the special feeling of a wedding celebration.
We can offer a ceremony only hire for weddings with guest numbers of up to 60. For an even smaller wedding (or even an elopement!) we also have further options for weddings with guests numbers of up to 30 or 15. These options are available on a Wednesday with further days (including Saturdays) being an option, subject to availability. Our ceremony only option prices start at £1,050 and we include time for preparations, your wedding ceremony, a drinks reception and photographs in our glorious grounds and gardens.
Do you offer an elopement package?
Whilst we do not offer a specific elopement package, we would be delighted to discuss your requirements for an intimate wedding ceremony so please do not hesitate to get in touch if you are looking for a elegant and romantic setting to exchange your wedding vows.
What is your guest and seating capacity?
Our licensed ceremony room can comfortably seat 90 guests or our maximum is 100 seated guests. We can also offer outside ceremonies and have many areas within the grounds which couples can choose for their ceremony and these areas include formal gardens, a decked area, an oak pergola, meadow and a circular glade area in our woodland.
Our courtyard marquee area comfortably seats 100 guests. For couples who wish to have more guests seated for a wedding breakfast, they may hire a separate marquee to be located in our gardens. This may be used for the day and wedding breakfast and then the courtyard marquee and surrounding wedding venue rooms would be used for the evening.
Our overall limit for the day and evening guests is 120 and for weddings on Fridays and Saturdays we do have a minimum day guest requirement of 60.
Do you offer a small wedding option?
Yes, small mid-week weddings are offered on Wednesdays where guest numbers are up to 60 for a ceremony and afternoon reception. In addition, a small wedding option is also available for a Saturday wedding where guest numbers are up to 60 for a ceremony and afternoon reception with the option to add an evening reception with a further 20 evening guests. With prices starting at £3,500 our smaller wedding options provide affordable luxury for a beautiful wedding.
Are you able to send a price list?
Yes, of course. Please do not hesitate to contact us for an up-to-date price list, further information on our wedding options and what is included with our hire.
Do you offer weddings all year round?
Our venue is available for wedding receptions and civil weddings and partnerships between May and October each year with our small ceremony-only option being available all year round.
Is access allowed prior to our wedding day?
We believe that every wedding is unique and special and that is why we only hold one wedding over any three day period. Access is therefore available on the day prior to your wedding day and couple’s often wish to use this day to dress and decorate the marquee and courtyard rooms. Access is also available during the morning after your wedding day so you can collect your personal belongings.
We appreciate that access may also be required outside these times for deliveries etc. and we will always try and accommodate any such requests.
