We are fully licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and partnerships meaning that couples may choose to hold both their wedding ceremony and reception at our venue. Our elegant Ceremony Room has been decorated in a neutral palette allowing couples to add their own style and finishing touches. The room, which comfortably seats up to 90 guests, has exposed oak beams and is beautifully lit by the natural light which floods in from several windows and french-doors.
Outdoor wedding ceremonies
As an Approved Venue, we are also delighted to be able to offer our couples the choice of an outside wedding ceremony as part of a duo ceremony (an outside wedding ceremony with the legal formalities conducted in the licensed room).
Our gardens provide many different options for an outdoor wedding ceremony from Spring all the way through to the Autumn. Beautiful locations include the formal lawns against the backdrop of the rhododendrons in full flower in Spring. For Summer, the natural grass meadow with it’s mowed paths provides a tranquil setting. For an elegant feel, the deck under the majestic lawson cypress tree in front of the Orangery is also perfect. On a warm Autumn day, our woodland glade garden which is surrounded by many mature trees would provide a glorious setting for those couples looking for relaxed outside wedding ceremony.
Couples may, of course, choose a religious wedding service at a venue of their choice and then arrive at Swanton Morley House for their wedding reception. All Saints Church, Swanton Morley is located just 5 minutes from Swanton Morley House and is located on a hill with stunning views over the Wensum. Please contact, All Saints Church direct for further details about holding a wedding service at the church.
